The Development of Research & Development Strategies and Centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina (RDBIH) project is driven by three key objectives that address critical challenges in the research and development (R&D) sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Each objective plays a specific role in creating a more modern, collaborative, and sustainable research ecosystem.
- Development of R&D strategies across entities and cantons in BiH
The RDBIH project’s first objective is to develop new R&D strategies tailored to BiH’s decentralized governance structure, replacing outdated policies. These strategies will align with European frameworks like the ERA and Horizon Europe, ensuring that universities have a clear roadmap for research, funding, and collaboration with industry, while fostering national scientific and technological progress.
- Establishment of R&D centers at universities in BiH
The second objective focuses on establishing six modern R&D centers at leading universities in BiH. These centers will address infrastructure gaps, support applied research, and provide resources for young researchers and innovative projects. By strengthening research capacity, they aim to position universities as drivers of economic and technological development.
- Development of a network of R&D centers across BiH
The third objective is to create a digital network connecting R&D centers across BiH, fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and policymakers. This network will facilitate knowledge sharing, resource pooling, and international cooperation, ensuring that research directly benefits society and aligns with labor market demands.
